Good morning church family,
I had a wonderful time at the KMUSA Gathering last week. I very much missed being with you all, but the Lord did some powerful things in my life and I know what I received there will benefit us all. I am very grateful for our connection with KMUSA and our many friends who are a part of that network of churches.
As announced last Sunday, tomorrow is a big day for our church as we have the privilege of installing Scott Walsh as a new elder! Since Pastor Richard passed into glory, we have prayed for the Lord to direct us as to who we could move into the role which was left vacant. Over the past year the Lord has confirmed that He has called Scott to step up into that role. Dwight and I are unanimous in the decision to appoint Scott as an elder. Scott has served us faithfully as a deacon for over 6 years. Many of you may have noticed that Scott has been taking on more responsibility lately, including giving a fantastic sermon last week while I was away. Scott has been functioning as an elder for several months now and I believe it is time to make his new role official. In accordance with our church bylaws, we will present Scott and his appointment from the current sitting elders. This will “be further ratified by a call for affirmation from the church membership” (NCF Constitution and Bylaws). Then we will lay hands on him in accordance with the Scriptures and we will officially install him as an elder. I am so very excited to share this experience with you all! I hope that each of you will make plans to be with us in the morning as we celebrate the Lord, His favor on our church, and inaugurate this new season of ministry which we are beginning.
Tomorrow is a 5th Sunday, which means it is family worship day. I am glad for this, because I think our kids will enjoy participating in the elder installation service.
On another note, Pastor Dwight is doing much better after his surgery and says he is improving daily. Thank you for being faithful to pray for him. Rhonda is doing better also. I know she appreciates your prayers as does everyone in our church who has had health issues lately.
May the grace and peace of the Lord overshadow each one of us as we walk through this day. May we get time to rest and to reflect on His goodness towards us.
In His service and yours,
Pastor Nick
