Good afternoon church family,
A very happy Saturday to each of us! May you rest well in Christ today, who is our true and complete Sabbath rest.
Tomorrow we have the joy and privilege of gathering together as a church family. The church gathering is central to Christ’s plan to encourage His church, to root us in His word, to rally us around His vision, and to equip us for the work of His ministry in the world. I encourage everyone to prioritize the Sunday gathering of His church. There is no substitute for the church gathering which the Holy Spirit uses to minister to us and grow us up in Him.
Our October Fellowship Meal is tomorrow after church. Our theme is chili. Bring something to share if you are able. There will be plenty of food for everyone so make plans to join us as we gather around the table for fellowship. Sharing meals with others was a regular practice of Jesus. His life is a pattern for ours and I know that I am always blessed when I get to have a meal with you all. There is indeed something powerful and special about enjoying food and conversation together. I look forward to this time with you!
Our focus Bible passage for tomorrow morning is Revelation 12:1-6. There is so much packed into these 6 verses. I have no doubt that the Holy Spirit will meet us as we worship, honor Christ together, and learn from His word. He is extremely kind to us.
We had a wonderful time at the Bethany Fall Festival yesterday! Thanks to everyone who came out to serve and to pray. I believe that we prayed for 60-70 people through our prayer booth, shared the gospel with dozens, and handed out loads of candy as well as several invitations to church. I know that our presence made a great and positive impact for Christ’s kingdom in our community.
May the grace and peace of Christ be with you in abundance today. May He minister to you in the quiet and in the chaos. What I know for certain is that Christ is with all of us who have placed our faith in Him. I love and appreciate you all!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
