Good afternoon church family,
I wanted to take a moment to touch base with you all on this beautiful Friday. I am looking forward to Sunday morning as we have the opportunity to celebrate the decision some in our church have made to follow Christ in believer’s baptism! This is a huge step of faith, and a clear sign to the whole world that we are turning our backs on sin and going after Christ with all that we are. If you or someone you know is interested in being baptized, please let me know.
For the next few Sundays we will be putting a pause on our Revelation series to take a look at what the Bible has to say about marriage & family relationships. Our world today is so very confused on matters of marriage, family, and human sexuality. Sin is death, and many have embraced the path of death. Even some with ties to Christ’s church have been fooled into going down the road towards destruction. The good news is that God has a lot to say on the subject and His aim is to save us from our destructive tendencies in Adam by redeeming us in Christ. I believe this topic is timely. I hope exploring it will help to shape us into Christ’s image as well as prepare our hearts for our time with Dennis and Sheila Cole on February 15th & 16th.
Our focus passage for Sunday will be Colossians 3:18-20 as we dive into what a Christ-centered marriage looks like and how healthy husband and wife relationships can help transform our culture for Christ. Whether you are married or not, this is for you! After all, the image of the husband and wife together is one of the primary pictures Christ uses to describe His relationship to His church. Since we are His bride, we would all do well to consider this picture and what it means for the way we relate to Jesus and to one another.
Dennis and Sheila will be leading a one day marriage conference on February 15th from 9am to 3pm. Whether you are married, considering marriage, or are a single Christian who wants to dive deeper into the meaning of marriage as it relates to Christ and His church, you will be enriched by this time together. You can sign up by visiting this link (https://tithe.ly/event-registration/#/9726768). NCF members and regular attenders can get a 20% discount by using the code NCFFAM. Be sure to select double admission for couples and single admission for singles.
May the Lord’s grace and peace be with you all! I pray that your Saturday will be restful and that you will have time to pause and reflect on Christ’s goodness towards you. I love and appreciate you all! Remember to pray for one another.
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
Colossians 3:1-4, “Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.”
