Good morning church family,
I hope you are enjoying this rainy Oklahoma Saturday. Things may be a little cold for April, but our hearts never cease to be warmed by the presence of Christ. May you find time today to pause from your normal work and to reflect on the Lord and all of His kindness towards you.
Many of our ladies will be enjoying the NCF Women’s Tea event today. Let’s be praying for them, that their time together will be refreshing and that they will be encouraged together in the Lord.
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day! We have the joy and privilege of gathering together to worship Christ and to use our gifts to build one another up in Him. Join us at 9:30am for prayer and at 10:45am for worship service.
The focus Bible passage for tomorrow is Revelation 18:9-24. In this passage we will examine Christ’s pronouncement of judgement over all evil, and the great reason why every Christian can celebrate even as the world often seems to be in chaos around us. The Lord’s justice is perfect and He has good plans stored up for us!
Next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. NCF is hosting a traditional Passover Seder Meal at Serve. There will be a sign up sheet tomorrow at church for everyone who wants to participate. This will be a meaningful part of our preparation for Easter and will help us understand how the ancient Jewish symbols of Passover foreshadowed Christ and His work on our behalf.
We will have our good Friday Service on April 18th at 7pm. Easter service will be on April 20th at 10:45am. All are welcome. Invite your friends and family to join us!
Lastly, tomorrow at the end of the service we are planning to have a short business session to update you on the conversation we have been having with the leadership from Tulakes Baptist Church. If you aren’t aware of what has been going on, no worries. We will explain tomorrow. I want to share my thoughts with you as do the other Elders; to share some of the vision behind why we are having these conversations, and to give you an opportunity to ask questions. One thing I want to be clear about is that whatever happens we intend to continue as New Covenant Fellowship. Our leadership structure would remain in tact along with our mission and vision, but we do see the Lord potentially expanding the ministry of our church while perhaps adding some sweet people to us. If the Lord wills, I believe it would be a good thing to have room to grow and also to be able to hold onto our current Serve building as an effective community engagement, ministry training, and outreach center. I love you all and am so grateful for you. We do not intend to make any big changes without having our church on board and that’s why we are calling this meeting for tomorrow. We are in this together, and so total transparency is important.
May the grace and peace of the Lord rest upon you today. See you in the morning!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
Colossians 4:2-4 CSB — “Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, so that I may make it known as I should.”
