Good afternoon church family,
I’m looking forward to spending the Lord’s Day with you all tomorrow. Join us in the morning for prayer at 9:30am and for worship at 10:45am.
Our focus Bible passage for tomorrow is Revelation 18:1-8. In this passage we get to see the final judgment pronounced on all evil, as well as God’s special call for His people. Though the destiny of those who are walking in the ways of Adam is dark, the future of those who follow after Christ is exactly the opposite. We have light and goodness in front of us. This is not only our future, but it is our present with the Spirit’s help. May the Lord grant us grace to walk in His light and glory now as we will when we stand in His presence!
Tomorrow is a 5th Sunday which means our kids will be with us throughout the entire service. This is important for us in our church life, because we are training our kids to be part of the greater family of Christ. It is mission critical for our church that kids be valued and taught that they are not second class citizens in God’s kingdom. They are an important part of our church family, and they are never too little for God to work in and through them for His good purposes.
The Women’s Ministry Tea is coming up next weekend. It will take place on Saturday, April 5th from 11am to 2pm. See Debbie ONeal for more into about this event.
On Saturday, April 12th at 6pm we will be hosting a Passover Seder at Serve. We will observe the traditional meal, emphasizing what each symbol means in light of Christ and all that He has done. We will also share a pot luck style meal together. I have no doubt that this will be a wonderful part of our preparation for Easter.
On Friday, April 18th from 7pm to 8pm we will have our Good Friday Service at Serve. This will be a time for prayer, for worship, and for reflection on Christ’s work for us on the cross.
Easter Sunday is April 20th. We will have the joy of coming together on this day to remember that Christ is risen! His resurrection life belongs to all of us who believe in Him. He has sent His Holy Spirit to give us power to live in His resurrection power. What a joy!
May the peace of the Lord rest on you today. May He call to your mind all of His wonderful works which He has done to you and for you. I love and appreciate you all. I look forward to being with you tomorrow!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 CSB — “Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body.”
