Good morning church family,
Saturdays are a gift from the Lord to us as we take a moment to pause and consider all that He has done for us over the previous week. I believe that the essence of sabbath rest is pausing to enjoy the Lord and the fruits of our labor in the world which He has created for us. Taking time to rest, reflect, and thank God is an act of worship and we honor the Lord by enjoying Him in this way. I pray that our souls will find rest in Christ today.
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day and as is our good habit, we have the joy of gathering together. I invite you to come early at 9:30am as we pray together. Our worship service will begin at 10:45am as usual. If you have friends or family members who don’t have a church family, we would love to have the opportunity to show them the grace of the Lord by extending fellowship to them. Invite them to join you in the morning. I am certain that they will be blessed as they encounter Christ through His body, the church.
Our focus passage for tomorrow is Revelation 14:1-5. Here the Holy Spirit gives us a glimpse of a wonderful worship service in heaven lead by the saints of the Lord. This joyous occasion is a true future reality for everyone who is in Christ. Prepare to be encouraged as we worship together, receive from the Lord’s Table, open the Scriptures, and minister to one another through prayer and fellowship.
After church tomorrow we plan to bring down Christmas decorations and to begin decorating. All are invited to stay and help decorate. We intend to order pizzas so that we can fill our bellies as we enjoy one another and prepare our building for the Christmas season. We hope that you will make plans to stay after service and join in with the festive fun! Our plan is to stay no later than 2pm. This should give us plenty of time to get everything down and do much of the setup also.
Here are a few upcoming events to keep in mind as we approach Christmas.
December 6th – Bethany Hometown Christmas (5pm to 8pm)
December 15th – New Covenant Fellowship Christmas Party and Fellowship Meal (directly following our Sunday AM worship service)
December 22nd – Christmas Candlelight Service (7pm)
Note that we have moved our candlelight service to Sunday evening, December 22nd for this year. We believe that this will open up opportunities for greater outreach. It is my hope that you will plan to join us for this wonderful service and invite friends to come too.
During our worship services each Sunday morning throughout December we will have a Christmas theme along with carols, lighting the Advent candles, special readings, and Christmas themed preaching. I have a great love and appreciation for the Christmas season and what it means for those of us who have placed our faith in Christ. I look forward to sharing this season with you!
May the grace and peace of Christ rest upon you today. May you experience His joy and may others meet Christ through you. I love and appreciate you all!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
