Good afternoon church family,
I’m looking forward to our time together tomorrow morning! Join us at 9:30am for prayer and at 10:45am for worship service.
Directly after service we will have our Christmas party/fellowship meal together. We hope that you will make plans to join us. If you would like to bring a dish to share that would be great. If not, come anyway. All are welcome to celebrate Christ and enjoy friendship with us. In honor of the Christmas season, we are collecting gift cards to help families who may be in need during Christmas and throughout the year. If you want to help with that, you can bring a gift card with you tomorrow. We will gather them together and hold them at Serve until the opportunity to bless someone arises. We hope to extend these blessings to many throughout the year.
The Christmas season leads us to remember what Christ has done for us. He came humbly as a baby; God bowing low towards humanity so that humanity might be brought up to where He is. There has been no greater gift given in all of history and no greater condescension for the good of another. My prayer for us this Advent season is that we will choose to focus on the light of Christ rather than the darkness that is around us. He came as the true light in order to light our way out of darkness. May His light, truth, and love be our theme. There are many others in our lives who need to know that Jesus is more than a concept, or character in a story. He is real and really is the Son of God who came into the world to redeem us from sin and restore us to the Father.
May His light drive out every shadow in our lives this day. May He grant us grace to be at true rest in Him. See you in the morning!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
Philippians 4:8-9, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
