Good morning church family,
This past week we celebrated 5 years since Serve reopened after more than a year of being closed while we completed renovations on the building. Many of our church members and friends have sacrificed time and resources to help us achieve this. I appreciate every one of you! I would like to take a moment to recognize Kendra Cunkle especially. Her leadership of our coffee house ministry has been a true standout amongst the many good things we have going on. She has put in more time than anyone will ever know, often serving behind the scenes with the joy of the Lord being her true primary motivation. Thank you Kendra!
It was good to have Mars Coleman join us last night for a wonderful performance of several of his original Christ honoring songs. I’m reminded again of God’s faithfulness towards our church and the ministries we cultivate together as a family in Christ. We stand as a light on Route 66, but also in every place where we live, work, shop, and play. Our church is so much more than a building or a coffee house ministry. We are a family on a mission to make disciples of Christ together and we are only just getting started. The Lord indeed has a purpose and a plan for New Covenant Fellowship!
Tomorrow morning we are blessed to gather as we celebrate The Lord’s Day. All are invited to prayer at 9:30am. Our worship service begins at 10:45am. Surely each of us has friends and family members who are missing the beauty of church, lacking spiritual family in their lives. Invite them to join you. For us as NCF, people are our program. We believe that according to Jesus’ example, discipleship happens most effectively through relationships. It’s not about how many activities we can have on our schedule, or how many seats we can fill, but it’s about getting people gathered together intentionally around the gospel purposes of Christ. When we do this, the Lord loves to do His part and to lead people towards Christ through us. The most powerful ministry tools the Holy Spirit has given us are the Bible, His gifts, and one another. He is building His church by His church as He empowers us to carry on His work in the world. So what can I say? Let’s both gather and go together in His name friends!
I love you all. I am truly grateful to be your pastor and friend. Our Bible passage for tomorrow is Revelation 7:9-17. We have the joy of getting a glimpse into what our future with Christ will look like.
May His grace and peace be with you today and may you rest well in Him on this lovely Oklahoma Saturday.
In His grace,
Pastor Nick
Revelation 7:16-17, “They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”
